Guidance Curriculum

Freshmen

  • Freshmen transition groups in September
  • Study Skills Workshop in October (Additional study skills information for ADD and ADHD students is also available by contacting your son or daughters respective School Counselor).
  • Individual meetings with students regarding progress reports, quarterly grades and personal counseling is ongoing throughout the year.
  • Stress Reduction Training in December
  • Course selection for sophomore year in March
  • Resume Workshop in the Spring

Sophomores

  • PSAT testing in October and grades will be reviewed by their respective counselors in December

  • Individual meetings with students to discuss potential colleges/universities
  • Small group meetings to discuss standardized testing options, research colleges and universities, explore career and college majors, and prepare students for productive college visits
  • Making Your College Search Count! presentation in April

Seniors

  • College representative visits from September to November
  • Senior class meeting to discuss college application process in September and October
  • Individual meetings with students regarding progress reports, quarterly grades, and personal counseling is ongoing throughout the year
  • Individual college/career counseling for every student
  • College Financing Seminar featuring a representative of the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) in November
  • College Essay Writing Workshops conducted during English class
  • Stress Reduction and Relaxation Training in December
  • Making Your College and Career Count! presentation in April
