This year Lowell Catholic celebrates twenty years of carrying on the legacy of Catholic high school education in the City of Lowell. As part of our celebration we have launched a new campaign to encourage giving among alumni, parents, faculty, and friends. We have chosen to call it the Legacy Fund. The Legacy Fund takes the place of the annual appeal as the primary means of charitable support for Lowell Catholic and its students. In choosing the name Legacy we followed in the footsteps of our students who three years ago voted to give this name to our yearbook. Student leaders at the time explained that they wanted to celebrate and remember our “legacy schools,” those Catholic high schools that preceded us in Lowell: Keith Academy, Keith Hall, Keith Catholic, St. Louis, St. Patrick, and St. Joseph. We are proud that our students take pride in the history and tradition that have made our success possible. As we carry on the mission of Catholic high school education left to us by these schools, we realize that we too are creating a legacy that future generations will build upon. To do this we need your help. Through your support of the Legacy Fund you help students today and tomorrow. Together we can ensure that there will always be quality, Catholic high school education in Lowell. Many ask, “How will my donation be used?” Most of the funds raised are used to support student scholarships. These are both need-based and merit-based awards. The remainder is used to fund student services and whether your gift is large or small, it has a tremendous on our students. Each year, as we seek grants, we are asked what percent of our community shows their support for LCHS. By raising our contribution percentage, even a small gift can help us acquire large donations. One such large donation came this year as a matching grant from the Catholic Schools Foundation. As a result, new gifts to the Legacy Fund will be doubled by the foundation thus making your gift go even farther. Please donate today.
